Celtic will look to strengthen their Scottish Premiership title charge by beating St. Johnstone on Saturday.
The Hoops triumphed in the Old Firm derby last time out, with Tom Rogic and Cameron Carter-Vickers netting in a 2-1 win at Ibrox. This weekend’s opponents are on a bit of a roll themselves though, avoiding defeat in their last three games.
Here is the starting XI Ange Postecoglou looks set to select to get the job done…
Joe Hart (GK) – Looks set to add a Scottish Premiership title to his already impressive trophy cabinet at the end of the season.
Josip Juranovic (RB) – The 26-year-old has made the right-back spot his own this season.
Cameron Carter-Vickers (CB) – Netted the winner against Rangers last weekend. It doesn’t get much better than that.
Carl Starfelt (CB) – Has only missed a handful of games this term. No one in the squad has committed more fouls than him either.
Greg Taylor (LB) – Never afraid of getting stuck in down the left-hand side. He impressed in the Old Firm.
Tom Rogic (CM) – Provides a real goalscoring threat from midfield, as Rangers discovered last weekend. Has six strikes in 18 starts this season.
Callum McGregor (CM) – Provides Celtic with a solid base to build from in midfield. Always tidy in possession.
Nir Bitton (CM) – Had a terrific game after coming on in the Old Firm, which should be enough to see him keep his place over Reo Hatate.
Jota (RW) – Has been emphatically beaten in the ‘which Jota is better’ stakes this season by his Liverpool counterpart. Still though, he is very good.
Giorgos Giakoumakis (ST) – The free-scoring frontman won the Scottish Premiership player of the month award for March.
Daizen Maeda (LW) – One of several Japanese players who have won the hearts of the Celtic Park faithful this season.
