Nemanja Matic has confessed that he believes Jose Mourinho is the perfect coach for him, having reunited with him once again at Roma,
Mourinho was in charge at Chelsea when Matic returned to Stamford Bridge in 2014 and he took the Serbian international to Manchester United with him three years later as well.
Having seen his contract at Old Trafford expire this summer, Matic has once again linked up with Mourinho, heading to Stadio Olimpico to join reigning Europa Conference League champions Roma.
“I already worked with him, we have a good connection and he is one of the reasons why I came here,” Matic confessed after making the move to Italy.

“It’s not only easy to work with him, it can be hard! But he’s a winner and he’s exactly what I want from my coach and exactly what I like to do in my career is to win. He’s a winner, he transmits that energy to the players. I hope we can do big things together.”
Matic was a near-permanent fixture in Mourinho’s Chelsea side and was equally as important to the boss in Manchester, starting in 35 Premier League games in his first year at Old Trafford and only failing to complete 90 minutes in two of those matches.
He joins a Roma side looking to bolster in midfield as they prepare to say goodbye to another former United man, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who is on the cusp of a free transfer to Inter.
