Bayern Munich director further confirms Ryan Gravenberch transfer

Bayern Munich director Hasan Salihamidzic has confirmed young midfielder Ryan Gravenberch has completed a transfer to the Bundesliga champions.

Gravenberch has burst onto the scene with impressive performances in the Eredivisie and Champions League with Ajax, also earning his first international caps with the Netherlands since a first appearance in 2021.

Bayern have been tracking the 20-year-old with the view for a transfer alongside teammate and right back Noussair Mazraoui, whose move to Bavaria has already been sealed.

The deal between Bayern and Ajax was agreed last month and Salihamidzic has now admitted the club’s happiness in bringing Gravenberch to the Allianz Arena.

He told Bild: “He signed. We’ve completed the deal and we’re very happy that he’s here and can get started with us.

“He has great strengths, great technique and is able to resolve situations in tight spaces. With his dynamism, he can drive the ball forward, is a goal threat but can also defend. He will take the next step with us.”

Gravenberch recently landed in Germany to complete the move and spoke about the expectations at his new side.

He said: “Bayern is a big club. I think you have to win big titles here. And that’s also what I expect.

“I’m happy to be here in Munich now.”

Gravenberch has put pen to paper on a five-year contract, with the transfer fee understood to have been around €18m up front with a further €5m in variables. Ajax will also gain a share of any future sale.
