The Denvers Nuggets are trading JaMychal Green and a protected 2027 first-round pick to the Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for the number 30 overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft and two future second-round picks, per a report from Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Denver will create a $8.2 million trade exception with the deal – whilst also adding short-term draft capital.
It’s not yet known what the protections on the 2o27 first-round pick will be – but it seems unlikely it will be protected beyond the lottery; Oklahoma City is effectively doing Denver a service by taking on Green’s contract.
Oklahoma City (#2, #12) and Denver (#21, #30) now both have two first-round picks in the upcoming draft.
More trades are certainly abound with the draft less than two weeks away.
