Joe Maddon is no longer the manager of the Los Angeles Angels. Amid a 12-game losing streak, the team announced that it parted ways with Maddon, who had been with the organization since October 2019. It was a surprising move to say the least given Maddon’s track record of success with both the Rays and Cubs, the latter of which he won a World Series with back in 2016. Phil Nevin, who was previously the team’s third-base coach, became the interim manager but was unable to lead the team to a win in his first game, extending the losing streak to 13 games.Â
Which brings us to today’s quiz of the day. It’s unclear if we’ll ever see the 68-year-old Maddon on an MLB field again, but even if he never gets another gig, he’ll forever be royalty in Chicago after helping end the Cubs’ century-long World Series drought back in 2016. So with that in mind, how many of the last MLB managers to lead every franchise to the World Series can you name in five minutes?
Good luck!
