Reigning AL MVP Shohei Ohtani reached a milestone over the weekend. On Saturday, in the fifth inning of the second game of a doubleheader vs. Oakland, the 27-year-old phenom took A’s rookie Adam Oller deep for the 100th home run of his career. He became the third Japanese player to reach the century mark in homers, following Hideki Matsui and Ichiro Suzuki. Afterward, Angels skipper Joe Maddon said fans should start getting used to Ohtani racking up the achievements. “He does it every day. It’s not surprising anymore. I don’t want to say, ‘Expecting it,’ but we’re expecting it. That’s just who he is right now. He’s gonna keep adding on to that. You’re going to hear more names, you’re gonna hear more  milestones.”
Which brings us to today’s quiz of the day. During 2021’s MVP campaign, Ohtani hit 46 dingers, falling just one short of tying the Angels franchise record. So with that in mind, how many of the single-season home run record holders for every MLB team can you name in five minutes?
Good luck!
