The Baltimore Orioles are currently in last place in the highly competitive AL East, but their fans have good reason to be optimistic as they have the No. 1-ranked farm system in all of baseball. Over the weekend, the O’s called up the crown jewel of their system, former No. 1 overall pick Adley Rutschman. The 24-year-old catching phenom made his MLB debut on Saturday in a 6-1 loss vs. the Tampa Bay Rays, soaking it all in before the first pitch. And sure, fans would have hoped his presence would have led to a W, but with the best pitching prospect in baseball, Grayson Rodriguez, also likely to debut soon, Orioles fans are getting a glimpse of what a hopefully bright future the team has in store over the next decade-plus.
Which brings us to today’s quiz of the day. Baltimore is hoping that Rutschman becomes a perennial All-Star in the not-too-distant future, which seems likely given his skill set and overall talent. So with that in mind, how many of the last catchers from every MLB team to make the All-Star Game can you name in five minutes?
Good luck!
