St. Louis Cardinals right-handed pitcher Miles Mikolas recorded 26 outs against the Pittsburgh Pirates without allowing a hit, but couldn’t get the 27th to record the second no-hitter of the 2022 MLB season.
Pirates outfielder Cal Mitchell came in as a pinch hitter in the ninth inning trailing 9-1 and managed to hit a ball just over the head of Cardinals center fielder Harrison Bader. After the ball dropped, it went over the center field wall for a ground rule double.
