Robert Lewandowski admits Bayern situation is ‘not easy’ amid exit rumours

Robert Lewandowski has admitted his current situation at Bayern Munich is ‘not easy’, amid rumoured interest from Europe’s top sides.

The striker has been linked with a number of clubs ahead of the summer transfer window and, with just one year left on his current contract in Bavaria, could be available for a relatively cut-price fee.

Real Madrid and Barcelona have been long-term admirers of the Poland international, while 90min exclusively revealed recently that Man Utd and a number of Premier League clubs hold an interest too.

Speaking to Sky after winning his eighth consecutive Bundesliga title with Bayern, Lewandowski shed some light on his contract situation at Bayern.

He said: “There will be a meeting soon, but nothing special has happened so far. I also notice what’s going on. The situation is not that easy for me.

“Does the club want to keep me? You should ask the club.”

It would be surprising if Bayern didn’t want to keep hold of Lewandowski. The forward has scored over 40 goals in each of his last seven seasons at the Allianz Arena and is the club’s second highest goalscorer of all time – behind Gerd Muller.

If Lewa were to leave, 90min understands that Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland will be targeted as his replacement. They are by no means the frontrunners for Haaland’s signature however, as we understand that Man City believe they are on course to sign the forward this summer.

Talks over a deal for Haaland have been ongoing for the last few weeks, and City believe they are now heading towards a conclusion.
