‘I want to stay at PSG next season’

Neymar has stressed that he has no interest in leaving Paris Saint-Germain this summer in the aftermath of Kylian Mbappe’s contract extension.

PSG broke the bank to keep Mbappe away from Real Madrid – a decision which has sparked a war of words between Ligue 1 and La Liga’s chiefs – and it has been speculated that Neymar could be sold to help balance the books.

Indeed, L’Equipe recently claimed that PSG are open to parting ways with Neymar if the right offer arrives, but the 30-year-old is not interested in a move.

“It’s really true on my side that I want to stay,” he told Oh My Goal.

“Nobody has told me anything, but on my side, it’s pretty clear I want to stay.”

Neymar has endured a tricky few years in Paris. He featured in 22 Ligue 1 games last season, which is actually the most he has managed during his time with PSG and only the second time he has reached the 20-game mark.

Injuries have proven to be a significant problem, and while he still racked up 13 goals and six assists last year, there are said to be concerns over his performance, and more specifically, whether he justifies his high wages.

Still under contract until 2025, Neymar has found himself linked to a handful of different teams by various news outlets, with the new-riches of Newcastle quickly thrown into the mix, although Neymar is not thought to be interested in such a switch.
