Offense, defense and special teams snap counts

The New York Giants were again humiliated on Sunday, falling to the Philadelphia Eagles by a score of 34-10. The loss dropped the Giants to 4-11 on the season and officially ended any remaining playoff hope.

For the Giants, there are just two weeks and two games left in the regular season. After that, general manager Dave Gettleman is expected to retire and then who knows what. Reports are that head coach Joe Judge and quarterback Daniel Jones are safe but with each embarrassing loss, that becomes harder to accept.

Here’s a look at the Week 16 snap counts that contributed to Big Blue’s latest failure.

Offensive snaps: 76
Defensive snaps: 63
Special teams snaps: 31

Quarterback Jake Fromm was yanked from his starting debut after 40 snaps. Veteran Mike Glennon came on to replace him and took 37. Neither played particularly well.

Devontae Booker also out-snapped Saquon Barkley, finally. He didn’t get the start but he did get more reps — most of which came after the game was out of hand.

Defensively, Jaylon Smith drew his first start with the Giants and fell silent after the first quarter. Rookie Elerson Smith was also mighty quiet during his 13 snaps.
