New York Giants agree to terms with first-round pick Kadarius Toney

The New York Giants have come to terms with wide receiver Kadarius Toney, their top pick in their year’s NFL draft, on a four-year rookie contract.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero was the first to report the news.

Toney, the 20th overall player selected in the draft out of Florida, was taken by the Giants with the selection they received in a trade with the Chicago Bears. That trade netted the Bears the 11th pick in the draft, which they used to take Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields.

In addition to the 20th selection in this year’s draft, the Giants received a fifth-round pick (No. 164) this year and the Bears’ 2022 first- and fourth-round selections in next year’s draft in that deal.

The Giants then subsequently traded pick No. 164 to the Denver Broncos to move up to select Central Florida cornerback Aaron Robinson in the third round.

Toney attended the Giants rookie minicamp last week but has yet to report to the voluntary OTAs currently being held.

Toney’s deal in comparison to other players taken around him in the draft:

No. 19 – Jamin Davis, WFT: 4 years, $13.794 million, fully guaranteed
No. 21 – Kwity Paye, IND: 4 years, $13.644 million, fully guaranteed

Once Toney officially put pen to paper, the Giants’ entire 2021 NFL draft class will be signed.
