Memphis Grizzlies’ general manager has been named the NBA Executive of the Year, via the NBA.
Kleiman, 33, received 85 total points from his peers; 58 more than any other executive.
Koby Altman of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Artūras Karnišovas of the Chicago Bulls tied for second with 27.
Kleiman had an interesting road to becoming an NBA executive; earning a Juris Doctorate degree from Duke University School of Law before working as team counsel for the Grizzlies.
In 2019, Kleiman was effectively handed the reins.
Since then, Kleiman has rapidly rebuilt the Grizzlies into a championship contender.
Kleiman has hit on a myriad of draft picks, including Ja Morant, Desmond Bane, and Brandon Clarke.
He also signed Taylor Jenkins as the team’s head coach.
Jenkins has quickly become regarded as one of the best head coaches in the NBA.
Kleiman certainly has a bright future as an executive.
