UFC 273 post-event facts: Alexander Volkanovski’s legendary resume

UFC 273 took place Saturday at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Fla., and although it was a decision-heavy event with nine of 12 fights going the distance, there were still a number of historic results that unfolded.

In the main event, Alexander Volkanovski (24-1 MMA, 11-0 UFC) overwhelmed Chan Sung Jung (17-7 MMA, 7-4 UFC) en route to a fourth-round TKO that marked his third title defense and 21st consecutive victory.

The co-headliner saw Aljamain Sterling (21-3 MMA, 13-3 UFC) unify the bantamweight championship with a split decision win over Petr Yan (16-3 MMA, 8-2 UFC) in their highly anticipated rematch.

The UFC Promotional Guidelines Compliance payout for the event totaled $293,500.

Volkanovski, Aleksei Oleinik, Khamzat Chimaev and Gilbert Burns earned $50,000 UFC 273 fight-night bonuses.

Debuting fighters went 2-2 on the card.

UFC 273 drew an announced attendance of 14,605 for a live gate of $3,550,053.07.

Betting favorites went 9-3 on the card.

Betting favorites improved to 9-2 in UFC headliners this year.

Total fight time for the 12-bout card was 2:48:05.
