Opening Day in the MLB is two days away! We’ve already looked into award futures for the entirety of Major League Baseball, so be sure to check out the pieces on Yardbarker’s Sports Betting section.
Now, we turn our attention to team futures and the board for the 2022 World Series champion.
Last year the Braves were +1000 to win the World Series before the season began and went on to beat the Houston Astros, which were +2500 to win.
That just goes to show you that there’s value on the board. The betting favorites may be there for a reason, but a lot can change between now and October.
One note before we get to the odds: The playoff field has grown this year, one of the main results of the lockout this winter.
There will now be 12 teams that qualify for the postseason, up from 10 last season. This makes betting team futures more enticing, as the odds that they make it to the big dance have drastically changed.
Sometimes all it takes is getting into the postseason to go on a run.
