It’s been nearly four years since MLB had a new member in the 3,000 hits club, but if all goes right, there should be a new inductee by the end of this month. Detroit Tigers slugger Miguel Cabrera came into the 2022 season 13 hits shy of the mythical 3,000, and he has four in his first few games as of this writing, leaving him just nine short. Miggy joined an exclusive group of legends last season when he hit his 500th home run. With less than two seasons to go in his career and the torch already passed in Detroit, Cabrera can spend his remaining time padding his already Hall-of-Fame-caliber resume.
